My Story

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service.” 1 Timothy 1:12 NIV
I became a Christian in middle school. It’s one of the biggest reasons I believe God has given me a heart to reach young people. Of course, as a young person, I thought I was going to be an astronaut; but God called me into ministry at a youth summer camp.
I attended college at Moody Bible Institute, from which I graduated in 1996. Since then, I have served with Camp Forest Springs (one year) and with Youth for Christ in Topeka, KS (5 years); Wanganui, New Zealand (5 years); and Chiang Mai, Thailand (1 year).
I look forward to God’s work in and through me as I seek to help expand His kingdom all over the world.
What is the Need?
- Young people live in a world of technology and frequently use the internet to communicate and to seek information.
- Youth for Christ missionaries can also benefit from various untapped applications of technology (e.g. networking, resource sharing, collaborate projects, online recruiting, etc.).
- My role will be to introduce strategic uses of technology to meet the needs & further the evangelistic efforts of YFC around the world.
Online Content Manager
As the Online Content Manager for Youth for Christ International, I will:
- Undertake an analysis of the needs and desires within Youth for Christ nations and the Youth for Christ International office
- Research, develop, implement and maintain creative, technology based solutions that foster interaction between Youth for Christ staff and volunteers all over the world
- Develop, implement and support a repository of resources and “best practice” ideas for our missions
- Serve YFC missions and missionaries to the best of my ability, as a member of the Catalyst Team
Youth for Christ Catalyst Team
The Youth for Christ Catalyst Team is a worldwide team whose vision, strategy and resources serve to inspire, strengthen and advance local Youth for Christ ministry to be more effective in engaging, equipping and empowering young people for Christ.
A team of people, at Youth for Christ’s International Service Centre based in Denver, Colorado, USA and regional centres around the globe, work together as a catalyst within the Youth for Christ movement. Their roles vary but at the heart of all they do there is a commitment to empower indigenous ministry to engage, equip and empower young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Working as servant leaders, they provide support to the 21,000 indigenous committed fulltime, part-time & volunteer Youth for Christ staff around the world. In their various roles they provide vision, strategy, training, resources, materials, information, research, programs, pastoral care, administrative and fundraising support, and a host of other resources that act as a catalyst to engage, equip and empower the young people of the world for Jesus Christ.
Each Youth for Christ Catalyst team member is committed to mobilise a team of partners that support in a variety of ways including prayer, local church endorsement and financial giving equivalent to the operating expenses for their role.
