National Sports Day in Jamaica was held at the Herbert Morrison Technical High School in Montego Bay, St. James. The day got off to a great start as the young people’s enthusiasm and the competitive spirit filled the air.
The day’s activities were put on hold for a period due to the heavy downpour of rain. This resulted in the cancellation of volleyball as the officials made a careful examination of the slippery conditions of that court and deemed it harmful to players. Despite the wet conditions, the athletics and basketball went on.
