Mitu

Mitu is from a nation in Southeast Asia where being a Christian can get you in a lot of trouble. She just completed the 10th grade. She comes from a background of non-believers, but made a decision to be a follower of Jesus for the first time a year ago, while attending a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program at the Youth for Christ ministry centre in her country.

One morning not long ago, she stood up and gave a short message during the morning devotion time at the same VBS program where she met Jesus. seasiangirlHer Youth for Christ leader described her preaching as “mind-blowing” saying, “I cannot believe how she can teach like that; it is only possible when someone is filled with the Holy Spirit.”

In front of 163 children, along with house parents from nearby children’s homes, Mitu began her message, strong, bold and challenging. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognise the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognise the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.”

Mitu brought a strong challenge to the 163 children and gave a call that “Today is the day…Either you should accept the Truth and follow Him or the world.” She continued… “The decision is yours. Make up your mind and make the decision now, not later…

Thrilled and praising God for what He has done through this young girl, one of the Youth for Christ leaders quickly booked Mitu to speak in a Training Program in October for college and university students. There, she will give her testimony and challenge them to follow the Truth, not the world. Your investment of prayer and finances is not in vain, but rather it is bringing results. Mitu has expressed a desire to study theology someday after finishing her bachelor’s degree. Pray for her junior and senior college education, as well as for a church to sponsor her for her theology studies.
